Necropolitics and Palestine

Last October, Martin Kemp, Richard Seaford and Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian were invited to speak at the launch of a book called “Descent of the Soul: katabasis and depth psychology.  They discussed aspects of the struggle in Palestine in relation to the classical concept of the Katabasis.

Martin talked on “Pseudo-humanism and Professional Responsibility in the context of Settler Colonialism”;

Richard on ‘’Punishing the Dead: Katabasis in Palestine’’;

Nadera shared her thoughts in response to these contributions. A lively discussion ended the meeting.
