What are you afraid of?

A Statement by Psychotherapists standing against Genocide
A template letter drafted by the UK-Palestine Mental Health Network Steering Group that can be sent to professional associations.
“We write as members of the psychotherapy profession to register our dismay that – to our knowledge – not one of our professional associations has issued a clear statement protesting the genocide in Gaza. […].”

We feel it is particularly important that the letter should go to “umbrella bodies” such as UKCP and BACP. If there are subscribers who are members of these bodies and who would like to help take action then please leave a comment at the bottom of the page.

  1. Hi, this is great, thank you so much for writing it.

I wonder if mental health practitioners working in the third sector could use this as a template as well? As we experience similar levels of silence (and silencing).

    Thank you so much

  2. Do please also include sending this letter to British Psychotherapy Association (BPF) and British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) who shamefully have made no statement regarding the genocide in Gaza and the killing , harassment of Palestinian citizens and destruction of their homes.
