Social Workers for a Free Palestine

Social Workers’ Pledge for Palestine

Who are we?
Social Workers for a Free Palestine is a growing network of social workers, social care workers, social work academics and students, who are standing together in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in support of Palestinian liberation. Though we are based and mainly active in the UK, our Social Workers’ Pledge for Palestine is open for social workers and social care workers to sign, from anywhere in the world.

We came together at the end of 2023 following the horrific intensification of Israel’s violence against the Palestinians, though we recognise that this is a continuation of Israel’s ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians from 1948 onwards, and we acknowledge the part played in the dispossession of the Palestinians by the British, particularly in the first half of the 20th century.

We continue to seek justice for Palestinian colleagues and accountability from national and international social work organisations.

If you are a social worker, social care worker, social work academic, social work student, or a retired social worker, please sign the Social Workers’ Pledge for Palestine, and you can also sign up to receive email updates.

We continue to grow – join us in 2026.
