The book explores the difficulties and limited opportunities for people with mental illness to live and participate in their communities with chapters focusing on the notions of community, life with mental illness, equity, spare time, and the rights to medication and work. It is fully co-produced by people with severe mental illness, with researchers from Birzeit University (Suzan Mitwalli, Dr. Yoke Rabaia), King’s College London (Prof. Hanna Kienzler) and staff of the Palestinian Counseling Center. Illustrations by the noted Palestinian artist Amer Shomali.
