Palestinians and the world must not lose hope
by Mariam Barghouti, Palestinian American writer based in Ramallah
Those mobilising against the Israeli genocide face exhaustion and burnout. This is the result of Israel’s ‘war of attrition’. [but]
Recognise this: Palestinians are not buried yet, and while the destruction is massive, so is the number of survivors with dreams to pursue, miracles to witness, and a faith in humanity to be re-instilled. Amid all the destruction there is life, and Palestinians are putting up one hell of a fight for it.

Lavender’: The AI machine directing Israel’s bombing spree in Gaza
From Palestinian-Israeli +972 magazine building on previous work by the same organisation.
The Israeli army has marked tens of thousands of Gazans as suspects for assassination, using an AI targeting system with little human oversight and a permissive policy for casualties.

The Death of Amr
From the Chris Hedges report
On the morning Amr Abdallah was killed, he woke before dawn to say his Ramadan prayers with his father, mother, two younger brothers and aunt, in an open field in southern Gaza.[…]
It was dark. They made their way back to their tents. Their old life was gone — their village, Al-Qarara, their house — built with the money Amr’s father saved during the 30 years he worked in the Persian Gulf — their orchards, their school, the local mosque and the town’s cultural museum with artifacts dating from 4000 BC

Genocide will continue — even if the bombs stopped tomorrow.
The Israeli government’s determination to deepen the crisis in Gaza means that we may be looking at even more cataclysmic levels of death and hunger in months to come.
