Mental Health Study Tour May 2024

Mental Health Study Tour MAY 2024

Since 2016, the UKPMHN has worked with its partners to organise
specialist study tours to Palestine. Our next two-week tour will take
place in early May 2024. We offer excellent access and an intensive
programme, offering opportunities for practitioners working within
the fields of mental health and social work to meet with their
professional colleagues, to explore the complex interface between
politics and psychological well-being in the circumstances of
Palestine/Israel.

The itinerary includes nearly 30 appointments within East
Jerusalem and the West Bank, and also going as far south as into
the Naqab/Negev desert and north into the Galilee. Hotels will be in
Bethlehem and in Nazareth.

To receive an application form, please email us at ukpalmhn@gmail.com.
The full programme offers excellent access to clinicians, academics,
community groups and political analysts who it would be difficult to
access if travelling on one’s own. The tour will be facilitated by a
small UK company with more than twenty years’ experience
providing alternative tours to the area.

The cost of the 14-day tour per person will be between £1530 and
£1,600 (depending on numbers), which includes the full tour
programme staying at good three-star hotels at half-board (bed,
breakfast and evening meal), sharing a twin-bedded room with
ensuite facilities, guidance from the tour leader, other day-guides,
donations, and tips. Flights, lunches and travel insurance are not
included. An additional supplement of £300 is charged for those
requiring single room accommodation. A £300 non-refundable
deposit along with your booking form will be due once your place is
confirmed.

Those wishing to extend their stay at either end of the tour for
further exploration will receive expert advice and support.
